Misty Mystical Memories
58
There are little rooms
inside my heart
with dormant tenants now,
with gently closed doors
where I can only peek
to see if they're still occupied.
They still are,
And soon will open wide.

Strands of life
Interwoven loosely
Touching barely
Meeting squarely;
Making contact
At right angles;
Making tangles
Here and there
Upon the mitered
Corners of the loom;
Making room
Subduing gloom;
The why of it escaping
Through the mesh,
Unnoticed by
The weaver;
Ignored afresh
By the great deceiver.

I feel a profound
Tenderness
Toward you.
With you
I feel together
Even when
Apart.
I know
And you know
That I know.
Therein, its beauty.

I had scanned the forest
From within
And from afar,
And trees are only trees,
I had accepted that.
But suddenly,
From out of these
There shines a light
As though
A secret passageway
Within them
Falls ajar
To beckon me
To follow!
And there
you are!
______© Nellieanna H. Hay
I prompt you not,
Lest I disturb your own
Unfolding.
I need no mirror image
Of myself,
I need only let you be
Yourself.
It's your prerogative.
Mine is to gaze within
The naked soul.

Let me make your summer,
Share its ripeness,
Come the fall.
Then romp through
Winter’s promises of spring.
At last I see it clearly,
~ Everything,
Having now no need
To devour or have it all at once,
Not even - you.
So, at last ~ I do!

Time's timeless belt
Exceeds the three dimensions.
Infinity is now.
I find inside your mind
No distortion;
But the cleanest,
Clearest insight!
Perhaps the system
Has a loophole!
How else
Could you
Have happened?
______© Nellieanna H. Hay
You didn't look up.
Perhaps seeing
With the eyes
Would be superfluous.
It need do nothing.
What it is,
Is all that counts.
To move with it
Even when its movement
Is imperceptible
Is ecstasy.
If you can
Read between the lines,
You’ll read me.
For me, I hear the music of your soul.
It emanates and radiates,
Germinates its tunes
Directly into mine.
Beautiful!

Ditto of what Will Starr says, there is no writer like Nellieanna , my favorite Lone Star poet!.....Ahh if we all had a woman like her to write to us! .....:-}
Oh, Nellieanna...Your beautiful poetry, pictures and the music you choose to accompany them combine to enrich one's senses and imagination. I especially relate to the first verse in this group, "...the little rooms within my heart, with dormant tenants...."

What a beautiful love affair, relationship you describe Nellieanna, the Sarah Vaughan is perfect too, and the presentation, layout, artwork so uniquely you, love it. Thank you so much, always so enjoyable to visit your hub pages. Regards, snakeslane
Nellieanna, look at the last word in the final poem on this hub. It describes every single poem you write. Trust me.
My dear, a tear...
Another awesome poem. Beautiful!
As always, Nellieanna, your beautiful words could melt the heart of an iceberg.
Thanks for sharing.
Your poetry is always beautiful and I have to vote these up.
Take care and I hope you enjoy your day.
Eddy.
Such beauty you have within your soul -- and such a lovely way of sharing it with others. I so enjoy reading your poetry, Nellieanna. It soothes my soul.
Nellieanna, I know, that you know, that I know, that you know, how to reach out and give such thought to the dormant inhabitants within your heart that awaken those in mine on this day marking three years of my reading and commenting here on these pages, being blessed with your written thoughts that somehow seem to warm mine,
Many blessings and much peace and love,
to light your path,
as you have mine,
Dusty
Misty is one of my favourite songs to sing. I can't decide which of these poems is my favourite as many are all inspired by music.
What a wonderful way to start my day! Your poems are inspirational and your use of words is awesome! I feel like this will be a guide for my day.
Hi, I forget how magical your poetry is when I haven't read it for a while, I can't describe it any way else, its something special, and I love it! cheers nell
Magical poetry and music blended with feelings of love,
loneliness and fulfillment. Wonderful poetry Nellieanna.
I will be back more often. Robert
Deep and inspirational poetry, Nellieanna ... got quite carried away by it all.
Thank you.
Nellieanna, I start reading any of your pages and my world just transforms into "Nellieanna's World" for the five or so minutes that I linger slowly reading and wandering through your words. I love to just get lost in your world, which seems so loving and perfect and safe...and hear how you spend your thoughts just "being" in love, life, and happiness. I so love the way you set the music, and the tone and allow readers to drift through with you.
My favorite one was:
Let me make your summer,
Share its ripeness,
Come the fall.
Then romp through
Winter’s promises of spring.
At last I see it clearly,
~ Everything,
Having now no need
To devour or have it all at once,
Not even - you.
So, at last ~ I do!

It reminds me wanting everything with a new love to happen so quickly, then reaching that stage when you know its love, and you don't have to hold so tightly. You know its going to last, you can slow down a bit and settle to a more manageable routine. That part can be so amazing in itself if people can value it for what it truly is - a positive step that slows everything down to a more enjoyable and less excitement driven stage.
Thank you for all the writing you do...I know I'm missing a bunch of it, and one day when things slow down, I'll go back to read them all. You're the greatest.
Love and hugs, Erin
Nellieanna, I'm not insecure in any way, but you are completely right that my interpretation was wrong. Sometimes I'm so frightened to be hurt, that I forget to just enjoy moments and I never let myself be totally IN. And people do sense that, and never go totally IN themselves. I love your story about the woman and her daughter at the beach - I do love Ann Morrow's writings, I've read some of her. I realized that on the other hand, if you scoop up a handful of sand, leaving your hand completely flat, the wind will carry it away. It leaves you and the sand (personified) wondering why you bothered to pick it up in the first place...and me, for instance, wondering why the sand didn't make more of an effort to teach me how to close my hand to contain it more. I want to contain it enough to show I care but not hold it tightly so it would want to leave, so I give it too much freedom that it feels unwanted. I'm beginning to see how silly I am. Thanks so much my friend. This is a lesson I should have learned long ago.
love and hugs,
Erin
Nellieanna, I feel you could write a whole book on healthy and true love. And people like me would devour it...and finally know what it's supposed to feel like. I used to go from relationship to relationship and think that the man or I was flawed - which is true, for no one is perfect. But that right "mix" just wasn't there. I wish I had you to talk to every night, like a magic mirror, to see myself and my day. You and your writing just sparkle from all you've been through, like a gem that has been through the tumbler to be polished. You're a special lady, Ms. Nellieanna. Thank you so much for taking the time and energy to address this so personal side of life and love. We've definitely learned through those immature loves...I'm still open to a different kind of man. I have learned a lot and I listen to every bit of advice and learn so much about what I do want and won't settle for less. I read your poetry and know what love can be. I'll get there one day with someone who is capable of that kind of love, I'm sure. When I'm ready too :) For now, I'm focusing my energy on writing, getting back to work, my aging parents, finishing school, and working my way out of this health crisis. I believe that when things are right, they all have their own time too.
You have such a beautiful spirit, I'm so glad hubpages brought us together. :)
Love, Erin
I just re-read this , Nellieanna , you have the soul of a lioness . The heart of a blue bonnet and the mind of a gifted seamstress! You write like no other ....:-}
Awesome! And the card "Memory - reflection..." is a virtual delight (on my screen). I really don't know why I have missed this one... Must be the end of the year syndrome - no longer walking, but stumbling. Take care, Nellieanna. Enjoy the Christmas season.
Good things come to those who wait. I’m waiting right here.
Another wonderful experience to read your work. Thank you.
Nellieanna this verse sums up what you mean to so many of us here at the Hubs, simply brilliant, radiant and ever so beautiful.
"For me, I hear the music of your soul.
It emanates and radiates,
Germinates its tunes
Directly into mine.
Beautiful!"
You sing music to our souls with your array of sketches, it pours into our ears and souls and lingers for quite some time. Hugs from me to you and a blessed BIG TEXAS Happy New Year 2012 to you my dear.
